Drogheria e Alimentari, an Italian Leader

Drogheria e Alimentari, a true Italian company leader in the herbs and spices market, is present in 60 countries around the world. The company’s turnover reaches € 59 million and foreign export sales accounts for 25% of its turnover.

Drogheria e Alimentari has been working together with the most important Italian chains for decades and grown to the point that it now does business with several foreign countries. Drogheria e Alimentari is highly regarded in all the countries where it is present and the key to its growth lies in the development of house brands and private labels of major international chains.

Such is the case with, for instance, Aldi and Lidl in Germany or Système U in France. Two years ago the Tuscany-based company opened two branch offices in these two countries to further direct contact with retailers.

The company has a presence in the Netherlands, the USA, Australia and Russia and is in partnership with foreign supermarket chains of international caliber such as: Woolworths, Kroger, Safeway and Albert Heijn.

The company’s strategy, which has proved to be highly successful, is to create long-term relations with wholesalers, who specifically ask for special ranges of products and original, high value-added packs.

One example is the Minipet jar, the revolutionary format devised and patented by Drogheria e Alimentari. Exclusive in shape, charming design, premium materials, it is the ideal format for heavy users as well as for those who love to experiment and want to trim and decorate their dishes with some extra touch of professionalism.

Backed by over twenty years of experience in the industry, the name Drogheria e Alimentari is synonymous with a reliable and solid partner- not just a mere supplier- for both Italian and foreign retailers. Boasting an unparalleled range of varied products, the company backs and advises retailers on the best choice to fully meet consumers’ demands and on the best recommended retail price for product positioning. It also ensures that retailers receive quality-assured products as the company has invested about € 18 million in food safety over the last few years.

You can visit Drogheria e Alimentari at PLMA’s World of Private Label Stand 3853 – Europa Plaza.

Bocon adds Pasta al Forno

Amsterdam-3

Pasta al forno is the archetype of the Italian Sunday meal, so it had to become part of Bocon’s wide range of typical Italian recipes. Its versions are countless, to the point that virtually every household has its own.

For our recipe we have chosen Mezze Penne in a fragrant home-made tomato and basil sauce. Mozzarella and Provola round it off, giving it that creamy and tangy touch loved by kids and grown-ups alike.

It comes in practical from-freezerto- oven -both traditional and microwave safe- baking trays in sizes varying from 200g to 800g.

Fattorie Giacobazzi Family Traditions meet Modern Expertise

Amsterdam-9

Balsamic vinegar, considered among the best and most typical Italian products, originates from the Roman Empire and the ancient tradition of cooking the grape juice to concentrate it in order to preserve it for long-journeys. Columella, a scholar of agriculture, confirms its beginning to the first century AD in today’s provinces of Modena and Reggio Emilia.

Over the centuries, two different production processes have developed. In the richest and aristocratic families a continuous and very slow process evolved which occurs in batteries of small barrels over a long period of time, minimum of 12 years. This produces the Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena (Italian PDO), which is rare and expensive.

For everyday use, the maturation takes place in just one wood barrel. The process produces Aceto Balsamico di Modena IGP (Italian PGI) that is very popular worldwide because of its versatility in a variety of cuisines.

Balsamic vinegar has been the pride of famous people of the past, as it is of today for Fattorie Giacobazzi. The Giacobazzi Family, in Nonantola (Modena), has always been synonymous with high quality agricultural production (Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese, Lambrusco wine, milk, grape, fruits). Today it is renown for the quality of the balsamic vinegar it produces. But it all began over half a century ago.

Mamma Mirella won many awards for her vinegar in the 60s, which is why in 1978 she started a new company, Fattorie Giacobazzi, with sons Angelo and Leonardo to produce and export their own vinegar.

Since then Fattorie Giacobazzi has developed a very wide product range while maintaining very high standards: Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale Dop, Aceto Balsamico di Modena IGP, as well as “Sweet and Sour” White dressing, balsamic glaze, special wine vinegars and now, “pearls” of Balsamic Vinegar, all in a large variety of sizes and bottles; these products are exported to all continents.

Fattorie Giacobazzi is a manufacturer extremely suitable and dedicated to private label. The care and tradition they emphasize is appreciated by professional and knowledgeable consumers, so retailers can be confident in delivery of a consistent quality and an appropriate price point. Moreover, they can utilize Giacobazzi’s knowledge and innovation with new product development and formulate exclusive, loyalty-building products.

Fattorie Giacobazzi also closely follows the demands of international markets and modern needs of its customers. The company is certified BRC e IFS and offers a substantial part of the production as “Organic”. In addition, they have been producing “Kosher” Balsamic Vinegar and also “Halal” certified products for many years.

Fattorie Giacobazzi promotes their production by participating in international exhibitions.

Tonito… Authentic, Italian

Amsterdam-11

Tonitto started in 1939 as a small, local ice-cream boutique in Genoa, a major city in the famous italian riviera. While the company has focused in solid industrial growth for over two decades now, it has never forgotten its heritage.

While the ice cream market says the company is one of Italy’s top brands and one of the most important private label partners in the ice cream and sorbet market in Europe, Tonitto has achieved another ambitious goal: to raise the recipe’s quality standard using the smallest number of ingredients and raw materials in the process, thus giving its industrial product a true, authentic handmade taste.

This process culminated with the 2015 revision of “Il Sorbetto” and “Il Gelato”: the first is now even richer in fresh fruit, the latter has a refined recipe, specifically designed to lower the number of ingredients yet holding a creamy and crisp taste. Brand new in 2015, the yogurt variants for “Il Gelato” aims at people who look for a healthier ice cream experience.

All products are free of artificial colourings, hydrogenated fats and any genetically modified ingredient. Plus, the excellent standard of the entire production process earned the company the international BRC and IFS certifications. Today, production takes place in a plant covering 7,000 sqm: a technologically advanced production plant, designed according to rigorous international standards. Pollution and waste are reduced to the minimum throughout the various production stages and most of the energy required for the production lines is provided by the plant’s solar panels.
