PLMA’s 2014 Roundtable Conference Focuses on Increasing Private Label Profits

The popularity of private label is at an all-time high across Europe, but retailers still face the challenge of turning these sales gains into higher profits. PLMA’s 2014 Roundtable Conference, to be held 26-27 February in London, focuses on how retailers can meet this challenge.

European Retail Strategies >>
Profitability will be examined from several different perspectives during a full day of presentations on Thursday, 27 February. The first presentation will examine strategies taken by the top five European grocers. The speaker will be Jon Wright, Senior Analyst for the research firm Institute of Grocery Distribution (IGD).

Consumers >>
“The role of consumers in building sales” will be the topic of a presentation by Naomi Kasolowsky, Global Capability Director Loyalty, Dunnhumby, which has worked with leading retailers in Europe and North America.

Packaging >>
The importance of packaging on profitability will be discussed by Vicky Bullen, CEO of the packaging design firm Coley Porter Bell.

Manufacturing >> How manufacturers can build their own profitability will be discussed by Eric Lassau, CEO, Oralys Group SAS. Andrew Stevens, Senior Analyst, Verdict Research, will present a case study on one of the UK’s most successful retailers, Waitrose.

Sales >>
The importance of building profitability through higher sales will be emphasized in a presentation by sales and marketing consultant Chris Hoyt. On Wednesday, 26 February, Adam Leyland, Editor-in-Chief, The Grocer magazine, will give an overview of British retailing and private label.
