PLMA’s “World of Private Label” Trade Show

plmaAmsterdam–The world’s largest private label trade exhibition, PLMA’s 2013 “World of Private Label” International Trade Show, will be held 28-29 May at the RAI Exhibition Centre here.

The event is expected to attract more than 9,000 visitors, including many from the world’s largest retailers and wholesalers, coming from over 100 countries. There will be more than 3,800 exhibit stands on the trade show floor, where visitors can see the latest developments in private label offered by more than 2,100 exhibitors from 70 countries.
Special features at the show include PLMA’s Idea Supermarket, where visitors can see private label products on display from retailers across Europe, North and South America, and Asia. Another attraction, PLMA’s New Product Expo, displays the new private label products from Trade Show exhibitors.

The show’s success reflects the growth of retailer brands across Europe. The latest Nielsen data compiled for PLMA’s 2012 International Yearbook shows that private label market shares climbed in nearly all of the 20 countries tracked by Nielsen. Retailer brands now account for 40% or more of the products sold in six countries: Switzerland (53%), Spain (49%), United Kingdom (47%), Portugal (43%), Germany (41%) and Belgium (40%).
